Notice of Public Hearing and Comment Period for National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan

The State of Minnesota is developing its allocation plan for the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF), a new affordable housing production program capitalized through contributions by government sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The State of Minnesota will receive $3 million for 2016 and Governor Dayton has designated Minnesota Housing as the recipient of the funds.

The allocation plan requires substantial amendments to the state’s 2012-2016 Consolidated Plan and the annual Action Plan for 2016. The state encourages citizens to participate in the development of the allocation plan.

A draft of the NHTF allocation plan is now open for public review and comment. Written comments on the draft plan must be received by June 22, 2016. To request a hard copy of the plan, call Minnesota Housing at  800.657.3769 or TTY 651.297.2361.
