Program Process Information

Minnesota Housing has transitioned its first-time homebuyer programs from a whole loan portfolio to a Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) delivery model. This new business model will help Minnesota Housing make its mortgage loan program, which includes the Minnesota Mortgage Program (MMP), Community Activity Set-Aside (CASA) Program, and the Homeownership Assistance Fund (HAF) more viable in today’s market.

MBS Program Training and Information


US Bank Home Mortgage - MRBP Division and Minnesota Housing are working to provide monthly training opportunities for our lender network. The sessions will cover features and benefits of using Minnesota Housing first-time homebuyer programs, which include MMP, CASA, HAF and general information on HOME HELP.

Trainings will include the basics of originating, closing and funding our loans within an MBS structure. Those who should attend this training are: managers, loan officers, processors, loan specialists, underwriters, closers, post-closers, shippers and final document staff.
